Rolfe's

Rolfe's

It's over???

It does not seem possible that Christmas is past! Although the new year brings exciting changes! We had a wonderful Christmas, of which I will post pictures right after I clean my desk area and find my camera cord! Dustin spoiled me, like he always does. I got a super nice exercise bike!!! The following pictures I took with my cell phone, I am so excited I wanted to share!
And of course my Hershey's Kiss. For those of you that don't know I will tell the story. When I was growing up I loved chocolate, go figure! So did my dad. So every year my Dad and I would buy each other a Hershey's Kiss, and enjoy them together. The Christmas after my Dad passed away I was really missing him and our tradition, and Dustin being the sweet wonderful guy that he is, got me a Hershey's Kiss that year. And he has continued to get me one every year since. The last Christmas that he was deployed he sent a sweet letter, and had his mom get me one to go with it. This Christmas he tried to order one to be delivered to me Christmas Eve, but the only place he could find, was back ordered and cancelled his order. But not to fear, his son was looking out for him. Jacob has seen his dad give me one every year and this year while he was shopping with his Grandma Marie for a gift for me he decided that he needed to get me one and wrap it and put it under the tree from his dad! So, I got my Kiss! I am so blessed with such a wonderful husband and son, who know me like no one else.

The kids were also spoiled, like always! Jacob got new games for his PS3 and PSP, a Nerf Gun, soldiers, clothes, movies, and on and on. Grace got doll clothes, Breyer horses with a barn and coral, Hannah Montana barbie set, movies, Littlest Pet shop VIP pets, clothes, and on and on. Bekah got a doll set with a crib, stroller, swing, and doll, a barn with animals that make sounds, Minnie Mouse stuff, a piano, drums, clothes, and on and on. And all the kids got a Wii with a few games to share. Which they are loving. And I enjoy it also. Like I said spoiled!!! Pictures coming soon! (see above)

Well, as the New Year begins we are getting ready for Gracie's birthday with two parties. (One for friends, one for family; the family is to big to have all together with friends!) So that will be fun! I already have her presents from Dustin and I! So I am already ahead! February brings Jacob's eighth birthday! With two parties as well. (see above) March brings a wedding for my sister Onna, and my birthday! April Kayla, Dustin's sister will be graduating college, May Colby, Dustin's youngest brother will graduate high school! AND best of ALL, June brings DUSTIN HOME!!! And we will be moving with him. Sad, but fun at the same time! As you can see the first 6 months alone are filled with fun, and more will be following!

I hope that you all have a fun and exciting year as well! Happy New Year! Welcome 2009!
Pictures coming soon! (I hope!)

Merry Christmas!

Wow! Two days until Christmas! I hope you are all ready!!! I am almost there, just a few little things left to do. We will be having tons of fun! We get to go to Grandpa & ma Ashbocker's for our traditional Christmas eve party. Then off to stay at Grandpa & ma Rolfe's to stay and open presents bright and early Christmas morning. And then off to more families that afternoon! We will be busy, but having a great time! I hope that you all have a wonderful Christmas! I will post pictures of all our fun, after I find my camera cord that is!
Merry Christmas!!!

Happy Birthday Rebekah!!!

Wow!! My baby is 2 years old today!!! I can't believe it! She should still be a baby! She has grown fast! She is talking non stop, about half of which you can understand. She loves to sing and dance. Her favorite shows are Micky Mouse, she loves Minnie; and Dora! She is such a happy little girl! And she has her own ways, that is for sure! She can be stubborn, and super sweet all at the same time. She has started taking dance classes, in which she is the youngest, but cutest! She does really well considering she is only 2! She has picked it up fast. She is such a smart thing! Sometimes I think to smart! Our family wouldn't be the same without her! Everyone loves her to pieces!

Guess I still have a lot to do! How about you!?

How???

Have any of you figured out a sure way to know if your child is really sick, or just doesn't want to go to school??? I really think my kids are to little to be doing this already! What to do???

I have finished most of my projects for Christmas, all but one, and of course, I put it up so I wouldn't lose it, and I can't remember where I put it! How does that work!? I sure do it a lot! After Christmas I will post some pictures of my projects.

And last, I am sick again! Strep again! This is the third time in three months, needless to say I may be having my tonsils out in the new year! Yeah for me, NOT! At least the kids are good. Although, I have a lot of stuff to be doing, like baking cakes, wrapping gifts, cleaning, and all I want to do is SLEEP! Plus there is always the kids I need to take care of!

I hope that you all have a wonderful Christmas Season! We are all geared up for birthday parties, yes 2! And a Christmas packed with family fun!

Marathon

Okay, a moment to brag. Dustin just ran a 28 mile marathon in 3 hours and 49 minutes taking 34th out of 350 people! I am so proud! He has been training for a few months and did so great!

Santa

We went to see Santa at our schools Family Reading Night. He was a great Santa!
Although Bekah was not to sure about him!

New Sites!

Okay so a few of you may notice that I have a few new links to genealogy sites, yes, started by me! I have decided that it may be nice to get a little input from other genealogy lovers like me! And maybe I will fill in a few wholes! Plus it gives me something more to do! Just for fun and me! I hope to fill them with more information and pictures, but I have to get organized and find them first! Any who, just thought I would fill ya'll in! (You don't have to visit them, unless you have questions or need help with something genealogy related.)

Installing a Husband

I just got this in an email and thought it was great! I love my husband, but this is funny!

Dear Tech Support,
Last year I upgraded from Boyfriend 5.0 to Husband 1.0 and noticed a distinct slow down in overall system performance, particularly in the flower and jewelry applications, which operated flawlessly under Boyfriend 5.0
In addition, Husband 1.0 uninstalled many other valuable programs, such as:
* Romance 9.5 and
* Personal Attention 6.5.
and then installed undesirable programs such as :
* NBA 5.0,
* NFL 3.0 and
* Golf Clubs 4.1.
Also Conversation 8.0 no longer runs and Housecleaning 2. 6 simply crashes the system.

* Please note that I have tried running Nagging 5.3 to fix these problems, but to no avail.

What can I do?
Signed,
Desperate.

DEAR DESPERATE,
First, keep in mind,
* Boyfriend 5.0 is an Entertainment Package, while
* Husband 1.0 is an operating system.
Please enter command: ithoughtyoulovedme.html and try to download Tears6.2 and do not forget to install the Guilt 3.0 update.
* If that application works as designed, Husband 1.0 should then automatically run the applications Jewelry 2.0 and Flowers 3.5.
However, remember, overuse of the above application can cause Husband1.0 to default to Grumpy Silence 2.5, Happy Hour 7.0 or Beer 6.1.
* Please note that Beer 6. 1 is a very bad program that will download the Farting and Snoring Loudly Beta.

Whatever you do, DO NOT under any circumstances install Mother-In-Law1.0 (it runs a virus in the background that will eventually seize control of all your system resources.)
In addition, please do not attempt to reinstall the Boyfriend 5..0program. These are unsupported applications and will crash Husband 1.0.
In summary, Husband 1.0 is a great program, but it does have limited memory and cannot learn new applications quickly. You might consider buying additional software to improve memory and performance. We recommend
* Cooking 3.0 and
* Hot Lingerie 7.7.

Good Luck!

Utah

We had a great time in Utah.
Yes, that is my son, he is just like his dad!

Us in the Visitor Center by the Christ Statue

A tree of lights! The Lights were so beautiful everywhere!
(For more pictures see the slide show.)

Card time!

Hey everyone! I need addresses so I can mail out Xmas cards! email them to me please!

Winter Wonderland!

Hurray!!! We have snow! I love it! Now I don't miss AK so much! There was no snow last night when we got home from our trip, but the ground is covered this morning! And it is still snowing! If I ever find my camera I will take pictures! This is the worst time of year to lose it! I only have a birthday, Christmas, birthday, birthday, birthday, and a wedding! I really hope I find it soon!

We just returned from a great trip to Utah! (Yes without a camera! I did take pictures with my mother in laws, so I will borrow it and post some soon!) We got to see our wonderful friends the Willis', the kids loved playing with them! And I loved visiting with Mj! We then got to meet up with Kayla and go shopping, always fun! After checking in the hotel we rode the tram down to Temple Square to see the beautiful lights and the temple! They did a great job lighting every tree this year, it was amazing! We also went into the visitors center to see the Christ statue, which the kids loved! We asked Bekah who that was, and she looked and said 'Jesus', it was so sweet. She was also fascinated with the walls & sealing, which is painted like the night sky, only more amazing than I have ever seen the real sky. We went to dinner and waked back to the hotel! It was a great night. The following morning after breakfast we went and swam in the pool. My kids are such water bugs! Then we meet up with Kayla again and did some more shopping and lunch. I love IKEA! They have such cool stuff!

We had a great time! It was fun to get away and see family and friends! I only wished I could have seen my young women from Ak who are at BYU, but ya know college kids! They are way busy! I hope I can see them next time! And of course they are always welcome here!

Oh, and thanks for the comments! It is nice to know someone reads all this!

Comments???

I know that at least some of my wonderful friends check out my blog every now and again, 'no comments'. I love to see who has been reading and see their comments, so where are they!? Love ya all, but leave a comment every now and again!

Let it Snow!

Really! I would love some snow right about now! In AK we would have a mound by now! And there is normally snow here by now, so where is it!? I know many of you think I am crazy, but I miss my snowy AK winters! It is so beautiful! There is nothing like watching giant snow flakes falling while wrapped in a blanket sipping hot cocoa! With a fire in the fire place! Oh I really miss it!!! And all my wonderful friends from the north! I hope you all enjoy that beautiful snow!

Christmas Trees!

We had a great time decorating trees! We got to help Grandma Great and Marie do theirs as well as ours! There is a new slide show of our fun! As well as the following pictures!

Our Tree! This year I did fun colors!

My Nativity!

I love the Willow Tree set! Every year my mom gets me more pieces to complete my set! I've almost got them all! Thanks mom!

What a weekend! And it's not over!

Well I sure hope everyone had a great thanksgiving! We sure did!!! We had a great dinner at the Rolfe's, thanks Marie, everything was great! Then we went to a movie, Four Christmases, not my fave, but it was nice being with everyone. And up early for Black Friday!!! I actually didn't get up until 6:30am, but I still got a good day of shopping in! And some great deals!!! Thanks to my wonderful father in law for watching the kids! And after a nice rest, we put up our new tree!!! I love this holiday season! As many of you know I do a different themed tree every year, this year we have a fun cheerful tree with Silver ribbon, and pinkish purple, green, and blue ornaments! It is so fun! I wanted something to make us smile, even though we miss dad so much. But we did send Dustin a little tree! It is about 6' tall and lights up, the kids even put little ornaments on it! And then of course we had to get them each a little tree for their rooms! I also got a 4foot tree for the kids to put their special ornaments on, since I am so weird about my big tree! Every year I let the kids pick a special ornament for the year, they love it, and it takes forever to pick out just the right one! They are so cute when trying to decide! Thanks sis for waiting with me while they debated! Like I said I love this season! Being with family and friends, watching wonderful movies, making goodies and gifts for everyone! This truly is the season for families! I will post pictures of everything as soon as I get all the boxes put away! Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend! (If you follow my facebook also, you will have seen I said one tree down, three to go, well we still have the kids to do, and then we help Grandma Great and Grandma Rolfe each put up their trees! The kids love it!) I will be taking lots of pictures! So check back soon!
Happy Thanksgiving! We hope you all have a great thanksgiving weekend!

WHY???

I have been wondering, as I am sitting here thinking of everything I have to clean, why bother? It will just get destroyed in a matter of minutes. Why is it that one can spend all day, and I do mean all day, to only have it messed up in a few minutes? Why do we do this to our selves? I for one hate cleaning! It is disgusting! I can think of at least 50 things I would rather be doing! Yet, we keep on with the vicious cycle of cleaning! Why???

I am thankful for...

the blessing of being a mom! A mom to three wonderful kids! They may drive me crazy at times, but I love them each soooo much! I know I already said I was thankful for them, but they are my whole world, without them I would be lost!

Twilight!

I just got home from seeing Twilight and I loved it!!! It was sooooo good. I went a little weary, I had heard some not so great things. But I just knew it wouldn't be just like the book, no movies are. And I was sooo not disappointed! They did a good job making as close to the book as time would allow, and many of my fav phrases were there! It was great! I will be buying it as soon as it is out on video! I really hope they make the next 3 books into movies fast! I would say, if you liked the books, go see the movie! You won't be sorry!

Cakes!

Check out my cute cakes in the new slide show 'Fun with Friends'. My great friend Natalie taught me how to do some really cool stuff! Thanks Nat!

For all us Stay at Home Moms!!!

A man came home from work and found his three children outside, still in their pajamas, playing in the mud, with empty food boxes and wrappers strewn all around the front yard.

The door of his wife's car was open, as was the front door to the house and there was no sign of the dog.

Proceeding into the entry, he found an even bigger mess.

A lamp had been knocked over, and the throw rug was wadded against one wall.

In the front room the TV was loudly blaring a cartoon channel, and the family room was strewn with toys and various items of clothing.

In the kitchen, dishes filled the sink, breakfast food was spilled on the counter, the fridge door was open wide, dog food was spilled on the floor, a broken glass lay under the table, and a small pile of sand was spread by the back door.

He quickly headed up the stairs, stepping over toys and more piles of clothes, looking for his wife.

He was worried she might be ill, or that something serious had happened.

He was met with a small trickle of water as it made its way out the bathroom door. As he peered inside he found wet towels, scummy soap and more toys strewn over the floor. Miles of toilet paper lay in a heap and toothpaste had been smeared over the mirror and walls.

As he rushed to the bedroom, he found his wife still curled up in the bed in her pajamas, reading a novel. She looked up at him, smiled, and asked how his day went.

He looked at her bewildered and asked, 'What happened here today?'

She again smiled and answered, 'You know every day when you come home from work and you ask me what in the world I do all day?

''Yes,' was his incredulous reply.

She answered, 'Well, today I didn't do it.'

I am thankful for...

having everything we all need! I am so thankful for Dustin and all his hard work to make it so that we can afford to get everything we need for our family! And help others! It is nice knowing that we can take care of our sweet kids and give them more than they need.

I am thankful for...

friends! Where would we be without friends to help us through life!? I am very thankful for all the wonderful friends I have! We got to visit with one of my missionaries and his wonderful wife and family this last weekend! It was so great! I love having such special friends all over the country. Thanks for all you do for me and my family!!! (Pictures coming soon!!!)

I am thankful for...

my brother! When I was 13 I learned I had another brother by my biological father, who I have never known. I have been looking for him for about two years, and I found him!!! He only lives a few hours away from me! So this last Saturday I got to meet him!!! It was so cool! I never thought I would get the chance. He is an artist, musician, and a good guy. I am thankful I get the chance to have him in my life!

I am thankful for..

my son! He is so full of life, and love! And of course energy!!! While we were driving to go see family, my sweet Jake was telling me stories and helping his sisters! He even moved to the back of the van so his sister could watch a movie. He has such a wonderful spirit! I am so thankful to have him! He is the best son ever! (I will add a picture later! When I get back to my own computer!)

I am thankful for...

Sweet girls! I love my girls,(and son), very much! They teach me everyday! They are so sweet and loving. And girly!!! Loving girls!
Gracie with crazy hair for school!

Sweet Gracie

Sweet Bekah

I am thankful for...

being able to move around, and meet new people! I love the Army! It has been so neat to get to move all over the country, places we probably wouldn't even be able to visit otherwise. I have enjoyed getting to know different places and people and culture. You would think its all the US, life is the same everywhere! But boy is it not!!! It has truly been a blessing to us! We love it!

Thankful for...

Chocolate! A nice simple chocolate is great for lifting the spirits after a long day! How did people live before chocolate???

I am thankful that...

I can go to church without people blocking my way, yelling mean things, and trying to stop me! My kids don't have to be scared to go to church, we get smiles and waves as we drive there!

Thankful for...

Friends! Friends from school, church, kids moms! I am thankful for having such amazing helpful, loving friends who inspire me in so many ways in my life! And are so helpful with my children! i know they are safe and learning good things from you all!

Bingo!

I needed some bingo cards that I could copy for a school activity, Last time it took me about 2 hours to make and rearrange cards to get different ones to play with! Well, I found this site that you can make different size, theme, color, black-white, educational, every kind of card for every occasion! It is a great site! So check it out if you need a game for anything!

http://www.dltk-cards.com/bingo/

Have fun, I know we will!

I am Thankful for...

The Internet! Without it I would be lost! I wouldn't be able to communicate with the love of my life! Or all my wonderful friends all over the great US of A! So today I am thankful that I can have the Internet! It truly is a wonderful system!

Kids! Gotta love 'em!

I love my kids! We have had some really sweet moments this week! They are just such wonderful, sweet little spirits! I am very thankful to be a mom, their mom. I got to go to the Rexburg temple for the first time yesterday! It was so nice! It had been WAY to long since I have gone to the temple! All I could think about was how much I love my wonderful, fantastic, eternal companion, Dustin! He is so good to me. I would be so lost without him! I am so glad I was blessed to find him. He truly is my other half, my soul mate, my world!

(Since it is the month to give thanks, I am going to try to show my thanks by blogging about something I am grateful for everyday this month! I challenge everyone to do the same!)

Help!

I wasn't going to post anything about elections, but I have to. ( I hope that all my friends know that I think everyone has a right to their own opinion, and I love you all no matter how you voted or think is best. I hope you can feel the same about me.) I think this sucks! I am sorry, but I am a little, no a lot scared, about what is going to happen to our military, and freedoms we enjoy so much. We are a military family, and I don't think Obama is going to support us the way McCain would have. And our right to choose and live our own religion. I truly hope and pray things will work out, but I am scared. There are a lot of freedoms that we enjoy as a family, I am worried about them. But all we can do is pray! So I am going to put this in the Lords hands! He is after all the only one who can save us!

Food Food Food!!!

So I have decided to start trying to make some freezer meals. I am hoping it will make it easier, faster, and cheaper. I am going to plan ahead and try to use what I have at home, instead of always spending tons of $$$ each week! So if any of you have some great freezer meals, let me know! Or just some great meal ideas that are fast, easy, and cheap! I hate spending so much on food! So give me ideas!!! I also have come to realize I have tons of Pancake mix, how I don't, but I do. And we enjoy pancakes some times, but I need ideas to use it up, and hopefully save money! Let me know if you have ideas or suggestions for me!!! I need all the help I can get!

Going Crazy!

I am really trying to not lose my mind, but it is becoming very hard!!! We are once again sick, I swear we are always sick! And it bites! So we are all trapped at home and my kids are driving me crazy, as much as I love them. My head hurts, and I really just need a break! But what to do!? So we were sick over Halloween, needless to say it sucked this year! No fun, except for Gracie who was able to go to school and to a church party and trick or treating, thanks to Becca and family! So as you can see, not a lot happening in our lives! Hope everyone is good.

Bows!

I have been making bows for the girls and Christmas gifts for fun! I thought I would share a few! The girls love wearing them. I have been collecting ribbon for a while, and my friend Becca, who makes and sells her bows inspired me to get making! Thanks Becca!

Cake Fun!

Okay so for my mother in laws birthday I made a 'Over the Hill' cake, happy style! On one side is a ladder, and it says 'over the hill...', on the other side is a waterfall, trees, flowers, grass and it says 'Where life gets good!'. It turned out so cute! At least I think so! I got the idea on the web, as I searched for ideas for over the hill cakes.
(I added a sun that said the over the hill...)

So??? What do you think??? I loved it! It was so fun to make!I can't wait for Bekah's birthday! Anyone need a cake?

Hooked on Facebook

Okay, I didn't think I wanted to do anything like facebook, but I signed up so I could see my good friend Bekki's family pictures and everything, since she is across the country from us! And I am really enjoying it. I have found lots of friends from all over! I have even found some of my young women from AK!!! It has been a great way to keep in touch. And just to know what everyone is up to! So I am now hooked on Facebook! Maybe I will see you there! Since everyone seems to be on there!

What a Week!

Another week gone! This last week was crazy! I hope to have a few slow weeks now! Like that is going to happen! The week started okay. Then Wednesday we had our first play group at church. It was really fun! We moms got to know each other better. (Our ward is growing fast with new houses everywhere! So we don't know everyone yet!) That was great! The kids ran and played, it was nice. I then learned how to use my serger! I love it! Thanks Onnolee!!! Thursday was a day of running everywhere! Thanks to a friend for watching my girls and getting Gracie on the bus! Friday I subbed a dancing classes for my friend Becca so she could go to a funeral. Grandma Barnes will be missed by many. I only assisted in the classes, but it was fun! The girls where 2-5 years old! They are soooo cute! Then I went to the school and got everything ready for our schools Family Night! It was fun! We had a short movie, games, and a make-n-take. It was a fun night! Thanks to all the wonderful parents who helped make the night great! And up early Saturday for our ward primary program practice, and Super Saturday! Do you think I will ever learn to only sign up for one or two things to make, instead of a bunch and having to run around like crazy??? I don't think I will! It was fun! I now have a snow man kit, a few cute Christmas gifts, and a snowman painting, that I painted! Oh and two way cute tu-tu's for the girls! So it was a great day, just busy! And today, we have our Primary program, where all three of us, Jake, Gracie, & myself, have parts. Jake is giving a talk during sharing time. And I am teaching my class today! (At the same time as his talk!) So it will be fun! However this next week I don't have much to do! Knock on wood!!! I get to clean!!! My pumpkin smell is back, how that works I do not know! So I will be scrubbing!!! I have pictures to post, so be on the look out! And have a great week!

Just a Mom- I think NOT!

A woman, renewing her driver's license at the County Clerk's office,
was asked by the woman recorder to state her occupation.
She hesitated, uncertain how to classify herself.
'What I mean is, ' explained the recorder,
'do you have a job or are you just a ...?'
'Of course I have a job,' snapped the woman.
'I'm a Mom.'
'We don't list 'Mom' as an occupation,
'housewife' covers it,'
Said the recorder emphatically.
I forgot all about her story until one day I found myself
in the same situation, this time at our own Town Hall.
The Clerk was obviously a career woman, poised,
efficient, and possessed of a high sounding title like,
'Official Interrogator' or 'Town Registrar.'
'What is your occupation?' she probed.
What made me say it? I do not know.
The words simply popped out.
'I'm a Research Associate in the field of
Child Development and Human Relations.'
The clerk paused, ball-point pen frozen in m midair and
looked up as though she had not heard right.
I repeated the title slowly emphasizing the most significant words.
Then I stared with wonder as my pronouncement was written,
in bold, black ink on the official questionnaire.
'Might I ask,' said the clerk with new interest,
'just what you do in your field?'
Coolly, without any trace of fluster in my voice,
I heard myself reply,
'I have a continuing program of research,
(what mother doesn't)
In the laboratory and in the field,
(normally I would have said indoors and out).
I'm working for my Masters, (first the Lord and then the whole family)
and already have four credits (all daughters).
Of course, the job is one of the most demanding in the humanities,
(any mother care to disagree?)
and I often work 14 hours a day, (24 is more like it).
But the job is more challenging than most run-of-the-mill careers
and the rewards are more of a satisfaction rather than just money.'
There was an increasing note of respect in the clerk's voice as she
completed the form, stood up, and personally ushered me to the door.
As I drove into our driveway, buoyed up by my glamorous new career,
I was greeted by my lab assistants -- ages 13, 7, and 3.
Upstairs I could hear our new experimental model,
(a 6 month old baby) in the child development program,
testing out a new vocal pattern.
I felt I had scored a beat on bureaucracy!
And I had gone on the official records as someone more
distinguished and indispensable to mankind than 'just another Mom.'
Motherhood!
What a glorious career!
Especially when there's a title on the door.
Does this make grandmothers
'Senior Research associates in the field of Child Development and Human Relations'
And great grandmothers
'Executive Senior Research Associates?'
I think so!!!

Cute Kids!

I just have to take a minute to say how grateful I am for my kids! Gracie's halloween costume came in the mail today and she had to try it on! She is being a mermaid! She was so darn cute! Then since sissy was wearing a costume, Bekah had to try on her doggy costume! She loved it she wore it all night! She was soooo cute! And Jake has been trying to help me clean and get things done! So sweet! I have been working on his costume, which he keeps reminding me he needs by this Friday!!! He is going to be a skeliton! They are just such sweet little spirits and I love them so much! Even though they drive me crazy most the time!I will post pictures when we actually dress up on Friday for the school Family night!

Stink!

Okay, have you ever had a great huge pumpkin that you couldn't wait to carve? We did, a beauty. Then it got cold and the heater came on, and well apparently it was sitting to close to the heater! You guessed it! It went soggy, rot in, STINKY all over my floor! Did I mention it was on the carpeted floor! Yeah! I have scrubbed, while trying not to lose my lunch, and it still stinks!!! So I am trying all different fun ways to get rid of it!!! I really want to just scream!!!

And while we are on cleaning! Have you ever cleaned your house top to bottom, scrubbed, swept, the whole shabang, and then had it completely ruined within 12 hours of getting it done! How does it happen! They are only little kids! Not monsters, or are they??? I would like to clean and have it stay that way for at least 24 hours! Is that to much to ask???

Okay I have gotten that all out of my system and now I get to go clean, again!

Raod Show

Okay, you have all heard how busy I was with Road show, Well, I have pictures! The youth did great! The got 2nd place! It was so fun getting to know them and work with them! Our theme was Pioneer times. Not the easiest, but we all had fun! So here are a few pictures. The ones with me are before, giving instructions and helping them get ready. The rest are of the show! The slide show will be to the side! Enjoy!

Life is Stressful

Life is full of stress! If its not one thing its another! I have been stressing a few different things lately, and when I am stressing I try to read my scriptures more. Well as I was reading last night before bed, my favorite time, the kids are all asleep! My favorite thing about reading the scriptures is that it doesn't matter how many times I read it, I always learn something! I was reading in 3 Nephi and as I came to the close of chapter 13, a felling of enlightenment came to me, "But seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you" speaking of blessings. Light! Seek the Lord first, everything else will fall into place! I know simple, but something I needed to hear again! What can I say I am stubborn! So, I have decided to once again realign my life, so that my family and the Lord come first, nothing else matters. If I am doing what I need to to do this, everything else will be fine. And I woke with peace! So this is my challenge, don't let little things, activities, bills, people stress you out! Put them in there place, after the Lord & your family!

I am back!

Wow! The last month has been busy! And then, just when I thought I would have time to relax and have fun, I get strep throat! Yeah, it was so fun!!! NOT! I am starting to feel better, and am finialy getting back to things! Now that I am better, I get to start working on Jacobs halloween costume, he wants to be a skelaton, but a nice one. As for Grace, she wants to be a mermaid, and I do not want to make that one, so we are ordering it. And Bekah will be a puppy! We already have hers. And next comes Christmas! It seems like it will be here before we know it!

Football is coming to a end for another year. Jacob has had fun and hopes he will get to play next year after we move. He really likes his teacher and is doing great! He still loves anything solider/army related, what can I say he is his fathers son!

Grace is really enjoying her dance classes. She is learning fast, and even has a few friends from church in her class. She makes friends so easily. It is really fun to watch her in school and dance.

And Bekah, oh sweet little Bekah! She is my biggest challenge. She is forever into everything! I can't find half my jewelry or cds or anything! Half my makeup was wasted all over the bathroom, and her body! Apparently she thought it was paint. And I am continually finding marker and pen everywhere! The newest is on my computer desk! And I think I spend more on wipes than diapers! For some reason she thinks she needs to 'clean up' everything and everyone! Well, all I can say is it is a good thing she is so stinkin cute!

I have pictures to upload then I will share them! I'd love to hear from everyone!

So Long ago!

Wow! Fall is passing so fast! I have been supper busy and forgot to blog! So school is in full swing and with that comes a storm that is PTO! I love being involved and staying busy, but it is a little crazy right now! I have been teaching art after school to about 140 kindergarten thru 4th graders, it is fun, and completely tiring! I am also helping our youth with the Road Show, it has been a fun experience, since I was not a member in my youth it is nice to learn more! And our youth are really great! Jacob is doing flag football and doing great! He scored two touch downs last game! Gracie is doing dance again and loving it. It is amazing what a difference a year in age makes when doing dance, she picks things up so much faster now. She is also loving being in Kindergarten! I can't believe she is big enough!Bekah is growing fast! She is working on potty training and saying new words everyday! She tries to repeat whatever you say, it is so cute, and scary! And that is all! I am now up to date on my blog!!! I have a few pictures I will add soon! I am to tired and need to be off to bed while I can!!!

Movie Review

Okay, this is so crazy! I never thought that I would love this movie, but I do!!! Since I have been recovering I have been watching some movies, I just watched Hairspray, with Nikki Blonsky(who is great!), John Travolta (whom I have always liked, but love now!), and many other great up and comings! It is such a great movie! It looks at old problems with a new light! It is fun, funny!(go John!), and a great feel good movie. I love the way they stand up for what they believe is right, and they aren't afraid to love! It was great! I know, am I crazy! But it is a great movie, that is being added to my Christmas list! Share your new or old favorites, I'll give them a try too!

Check out a link below! Under the pictures!

Wow! Summer's Over?!

Wow! I can't believe summer is over! My kids started school today! I know have a 2nd grader and a kindergartner! They grow so fast! Well the last month has been busy. The kids both really enjoyed soccer, neither team won a lot, but they had fun! And Jacob is now into the football season. He is playing flag football again. They have started practice and have their first game in a couple of weeks. Gracie gets to start dance again. She is so excited! I just had sinus surgery! Fun I know! I am doing great, recovering faster than I expected. My wonderful mom came over to take care of all of us, while I couldn't! That's been my fun for the month! And that is about all that has happened. More is coming I am sure!
Well, we have had a very busy, fun, fast July! Dustin got to be here for 18days!!! So, we did everything we could! As a result, I have a ton of photos! It was really great to have him home. The kids all loved it, even Bekah. She seemed to remember him and was always with him. It was so cute. We went fishing, camping, to Yellowstone, Island Park, a fun park near us, and a lake near by. We had so much fun! We were so sad to see him go, but he will be home again in no time!

The kids also started soccer and are really liking it. Jake is great, he gets right in and gets the ball! Grace and her team are so cute to watch, they get going, and one falls, and its like domino's! Down they all go! She does really good also. We are really enjoying watching there games. Dustin even got to see a few of them!

Well, school is nearing, and for us that means life gets busy! I can't believe Grace will be in Kindergarten! I am again PTO President, so school starts early for me! There is so much to do! But it is fun to be involved in there school. I think it makes school funner for them, I recommend it to every parent. Even if only helping a little! It is worth it!

Am I crazy or has anyone else started planning Christmas gifts yet!? I know what we are doing for everyone! I just have to wait for money! I guess with everything going on I have to start early. It sure makes Christmas time a little easier. Speaking of Christmas, I need everyone to email me their address so I have them for Christmas cards!

Books!

Okay, so most of you know that I love to read. It all started when I was a young girl, who grew up with and loved horses, and my mom got me the Saddle Club Series, by Bonnie Bryant. I loved those books! Well, Gracie loves horses also, and has been having riding lessons. While I was looking at Breyer horses, (collectible toy horses) I found that they have some based off those books! So, I started looking for the books so we can read them together. And I am thinking of getting the horses for her for Christmas. Anyway. I was really excited, then I discovered that the author has continued the series with the characters as young adults, in the Pine Hollow Series! I can't wait to read them all now! ( There are 101 in the Saddle Club series, and 17 in the Pine Hollow series, that I know of.) Anyway, I don't know why I am sharing this with you all, but if you have young readers who love horses, these books are fun!

While talking about books, the new Stephanie Meyer book comes out Aug. 2nd!!! And my Twilight friends know how great it will be!!! We will have to chat after we all get them! I know I will be at the store when they open on the 2nd! And am reserving the whole day for reading!!!

If you have read any fun books, let me know!

Happenings

Well, I thought that the last few weeks would slow down, they did not however! We had lots to do! And while we had lots to do, the days seemed to drag on forever! I think the later was because we are awaiting a visit from Dustin! So we had some hot weather, in the 90's, and decided it was time for some water play! So we spent a fun afternoon in the water! (Pictures to left)

As we were eating a nice Sunday dinner in the shade outside, we noticed that Gracie had two rows of teeth! Her permanent bottom front teeth had come through, while her baby teeth were still in! So the following day we went to the dentist and she had her two baby teeth pulled! She couldn't wait for the tooth fairy to come! (Pictures to left)

After waiting and earning, and waiting, the kids finally got a pet hamster. They have named him TJ and he is really cute and fun. Even Bekah loves him! So, introducing the newest member of the family, TJ Cowey Rolfe, (Cowey because Grace said he is black and white like a cow!) (Again pictures to left, I know I take to many pictures!)

And as always, there is more fun to come! Jake & Grace both have their first Soccer games next week, and hopefully Daddy will be her! So stay tuned!

Some thoughts!

Okay, so my first thought is that if you have an office with glass walls, you shouldn't pick your nose! Yes, as I was leaving the bank I saw movement to my side and looked up to see a guy at his desk picking his nose! Not cute!

My second thought is thank goodness for sunscreen and hairspray! Today as I was cleaning out our truck my sweet little Bekah found a permanent blue marker! And you guessed it, she drew on the seat, the ceiling, anything she could reach! So after panicking, I googled 'removing permanent marker from leather', and found that spray sunscreen will remove it, and behold it worked! (after scrubbing for an hour!) So then I decided to look up 'removing p. marker from cloth', and found that hairspray works, so I tried it and most of it came off! (again after about an hour of scrubbing with a Q tip) It also said that toothpaste gets it off, or a combo of the two. So I hope it worked! About 95% has come off.

And those are my thoughts for the day!

We're Back!!!

Okay. so we just got home from a trip to Oregon to see family and see the wonderful Oregon Coast! We had a great time!We got to see our cousins who I have not seen for at least 13 years! And they have never met my kids! So it was great to see them and spend time with them. They were so wonderful to put us up at their house and show us the land! We then traveled to Northern CA to see the Redwoods, wow! They are huge amazing trees. The pictures didn't turn out to be the best because of the lighting in the grove. But you get the main idea. And then up to the Oregon Coast! We saw lighthouses, amazing views and had fun looking for sea shells on the beach. We also stopped at Sea Lion Caves. It was so neat to see all the Sea Lions out on the rocks at the base of the mountain, and in the cave. We saw some amazing scenery! It was a great trip! My mom and sister and niece got to join us so it was even better!Check out the slide show, there are tons of pictures! (And I didn't even put them all on!) And our summer fun isn't over yet! So stay tuned!

Summer Fun!

Well we have been busy! I have been trying to to lots with the kids so they would stay happy and worn out! So we went for a hike the other day. Not a long one, but it was still fun. We took a picnic and played it the creek, and toke lots of pictures! We had a great time. And my niece Sara is staying with us so that was fun to have her with us. Then today we went to the zoo! Which all the kids loved! Bekah loves animals so it was really fun to watch her get excited every time we say something new! It was her first time at the zoo, so it was really fun! Then we hurried home to see some wonderful friends from Alaska who were driving thru town! The Jean's! It was so great to see them! The kids are so big! And I have missed my wonderful friend Bekki! I am so glad they got to stop and see us, even only for a short visit! So look at our new slide show full of fun pictures from the hike, zoo, and Jean's visit! And there is more fun to come!

My Heritage Album

Okay, like I said I have been trying some digital scrap booking. Well Here is one of my pages. I don't do anything fancy. I am enjoying digital scrap booking, I think one reason is because I can sit at my computer, with Bekah on my lap and scrap book and she can't mess it up, there is no mess, or clean up. I still enjoy my traditional scrap booking, but it is fun to do some digital. Anyway, here is one page out of my first digital scrap book, Enjoy!

Going Digital!

Okay so we all have noticed that everything has gone digital, right? Well I was great with the camera going digital, I mean who doesn't want to be able to view their pictures right away, put them on the computer the easy way to email... Well, I have been having a lot harder time with going digital when it comes to scrap booking! It just never seemed that fun! Well, I have seen the error of my ways! Oh I still love the 'old ways' for some scrap booking, but I have found a great way to make awesome books, cards, posters, and even make a 12 x12 page to add to my good 'old' scrapbooks! After searching and playing with different programs and web sites, I have found that I really like Heritagemakers.com! They have tons of cute things to put with your photos, and the price is about the same as buying a book, paper, add ons, and printing the million pictures for the book! (I have about 5 years worth of pictures just waiting for something to happen to them!) And some I will still print and scrapbook the 'old' way, but I am having fun going digital!

Summer trips

If any of you are coming my way in your summer travels, let me know! I would love to play! And I will let you all know the same! Keep looking for more summer fun photos! We have lots planned!!!

Craters of the Moon

Wind, wind, and more wind! Other than the wind we had a great day at the Craters of the Moon volcano fields reserve park. The kids and I have been studying volcano's and happen to leave only a couple hours from the park, so we went to have a look. It was a beautiful day, other than the wind, that we thought would blow us back to Alaska! We got to climb down in a lava cave, and hike through a lava tunnel and hike up to see into a 'mini volcano', called a spitter cone. It was a lot of fun, the kids even said it was worth the long drive to see. After we had seen everything we stopped at the visitors center to look around it. While we were there we learned about a cool program called, Junior Rangers, that you can do at every National Park in the USA. They have a little pamphlet that the kids must do three things from, (like hike one of the trails, and not remove anything from the park...) and then the kids got a certificate and a badge and were made Junior Rangers! We thought it was neat, every park has there own badge that you can get. So we are going to start collecting JR badges! It was great fun! Bekah stayed with Grandma Marie since we were going to be hiking and climbing and she is a little to small for that yet.

The thoughts of a 5 year old!

Okay, on the way out there the kids were asking when I had been there last, I said it was at least 15 years ago, or longer! Then Jake asked how long Dustin and I had been married, I said almost 11 years, then Gracie asked, 'And you still like Daddy?! Even after that long?' It was so cute! I said I did still like Daddy, I even still loved him. She was amazed. It was so funny! I had to share.

School's OUT!!!

Yeah! We are all done with school for the summer! And fun we have been having! First off, we were all sick! Yeah, not! We are better now, after two weeks! The weather finally got nice so we got to plant our flowers, the ones who didn't die from frostbite! Some of our friends from Alaska, the Bundy's are in town and we got to get together with them and the Evan's and play! We had lunch at Leo's, a great family place, they have every kind of food, a huge play center with a climb, jump, slide thing, and arcades with Laser tag. We ate and played in the play center, more than enough fun for us! We also got to hang out and have dinner and watch a movie and the kids played the night away! It was so fun, the kids were great friends again after a year of not seeing each other! We should all learn from them! And I had such a great time that I want to move back to Alaska! I have really missed all my great friends up north! If any more of you are coming to town, let me know! And the fun isn't over yet! We get to get together one more time before they leave for home! Yeah!!! We also talked my wonderful brother and sister in law to help put up our new trampoline! We had fun! And the kids are really enjoying it! I have a safety enclosure, but it got to dark to put it up, so it will be up soon. So the summer is off to great fun! The kids and I thought it would be fun to learn about some fun science things this summer, so we are going to be learning about volcanoes first! We are going to learn how they work, why and make a model that erupts! And then we are going out to Craters of the Moon, a local park that is a volcano rock field, tubes, caves and all kinds of things from a volcano that went off forever ago here in Idaho! So it will be fun. Look for pictures from our science fun soon! (That is only the first science project!) SEE the pictures from some of our fun in May 2008 to the left side!

Summer has Arrived, Finally!!!

Well, it's true, summer is finally here, we think. This is Idaho so it could snow tomorrow, but I think we are safe. It has been really nice, in the 80's, with a breeze. Last Friday I did an activity at Jake's school and it was the first nice day, and I of course got sun burnt, more like crisp. But it was a fun day.

Jacob can't wait to get out of school for summer! He is very excited. I think all of us are a little tried of early rising and school stuff, we all need a break. Gracie was so excited about planting flowers, well we bought some and as we were checking out it started snowing! So we came home, and waited, it got nice for a few days, then it snowed! And repeated itself for a few weeks, needless to say she was very disappointed. We did plant them finally today! She was very happy. We also just got a trampoline! The kids are very excited about that.

I helped the Willis family move last week. It was fun to be able to see them and help. They are all growing fast! Well, the kids are. They are such a great family, I just love them. We have lots of friends coming thru town this summer, and we are even going on a trip with my family to see some cousins, so it will be a great summer. And best of all, Dustin gets to visit for R & R this summer!!!! He gets to be at his sisters wedding! We are all very excited about it!

You are all always welcome to visit us anytime! We love visitors!

Still going strong!

Well things are still busy! Both Jake & Grace just signed up for soccer so that will be fun. Bekah is trying so hard to be a big girl! She thinks she has to do everything big brother and sister do, sometimes it drives me crazy! Grace is very excited about kindergarten next year, that is all I hear about! Jake is ready for summer break!

I was asked to do a short lesson on dating ideas for our last enrichment night, which I thought was funny since I currently don't have a husband around to date, but thought what the hay! It was a fun night. There are so many new faces in our ward that I feel I don't know anyone! But I am lucky to have family near to help with the kids! They really love going to Grandma & Papa's, and of course Grandma Great's! Bekah is a really Gradma's girl! We get to do a big wedding this summer, so that will be fun. Dustin's only sister is getting married! We hope he can get leave around then to be here for her wedding. We'll see! Ya just feel old when younger siblings get married!

Well not a lot new happening! I hope everyone is doing great! I get to go to Boise and Provo in a few weeks, that will be fun.

The Rolfe's 2008
Dustin, Eleanor, Jacob, Grace & Rebekah

Posted by Picasa

Hello All!!!

Hey everyone! I decided that it was about time I set up something so you could keep up with us! Since we are always on the go, we are the Roaming Rolfe's! We are all doing good. Dustin is in Iraq, having fun, or something like that. No, he enjoys the work, just misses us. I am staying busy with college, PTO at Jacob's school, and Gracie's preschool! And we can't forget our little Rebekah! We got to go see Dustin a few times while he was in Tacoma. We also got to see the Walkers! And on trips to Boise to see family we have got to see the Willis family and the Johnston family! Both with growing kids! We love being able to drive for a while and see family and friends, quit different from being in Hawaii & Alaska!

Jacob is doing good in school. He has missed his Alaska friends a lot and sometimes wishes we were still there. He has been doing football, wrestling, and is going to try soccer this summer! He still loves to run and is very active!

Gracie is loving preschool, only it isn't enough days for her. She is a social little bug! She is dying to dance some more, but we have been to busy! So hopefully she can start soon. And she is SO excited for kindergarten! We went and registered and now all she wants to do is go get a 'big' backpack for school.

Bekah is growing way to fast for me! She is running everywhere, trying to talk like crazy, she says something new everyday! Not to mention the attitude, or as her Great Grandma Rolfe says, 'she has personality bursting from her toes there is so much!'

We are all doing good and enjoying being near family. The kids love to sleep over at Grama and Papa's, and Grama is Bekah's favorite person! This summer looks to be full of fun! We have two family reunions, a wedding, a baby(not the same people as the wedding!), we planning some fun trips, and we even get to hopefully see some Alaska friends as they make their way past us! The Jean's will be driving our way in their big move this June, and the Walkers may be driving past to see family before their move back to Alaska! If anyone else is coming our way let me know so we can get together! We have really been missing our wonderful Alaska friends!

Well, that is it for now! I will try to keep everything updated at least monthly! And I will update pictures often so visit often!
